Oren can either be a silly character, or a gay character. the reason for this, is because Japan's view on homosexuality is still mixed, so, if the writers were to be directly asked, "is Oren gay" they could easily shrug it off as "no, he's just very silly" it's mainly so they don't get flack. whether Oren is gay or not is up to the viewer, no answer is entirely right or wrong.
