But does it make sense? In How I Met Your Mother, the ending was planned from the very beginning (9 seasons earlier) and a lot of people think it completely goes against all character development that happened through the whole series. Just because it was the writer's intent doesn't mean it makes sense.

Besides, Gai has superpowers...you'd think with proper medical treatment he could survive a stab wound. Unless of course it got him in a vital place and he knew he wouldn't last, but I don't see Gai as being the type of person to really tell if a stab wound will be fatal or not.
