The way Go-buster handled it was unique, as the monster and the giant robot did not even resemble each other. The robot only took on some traits of the monster. For example the monster Shovelroid gave some of its traits to the ShovelZord. The giant battle could also be fought the same time as the human sized battle, as the monster served as the navigation point to which the robot teleported to.

I believe Go-Buster is the only sentai to handle the giant monster trope that way, making it one of the more unique deviations.
