Ayane's High Kick - I never saw this anime before. I remember seeing a ad for it at a local Sam Gody as a kid back in the late 90's. Now almost 20 years later, I got the chance to sit down and watch it. While it's nowhere as good as Hajime no Ippo or Baki the Grappler, I still find it to be a enjoyable anime. The animation was good, the soundtrack was great and the anime had fun characters. My biggest issue with this game is that it's way too short. It's only two episodes and I really did want to see what happens next. The final episode ends with a cliffhanger and we never knows on what happens next. Not to mention the final battle feels very anticlimactic. There was a lot of build up to the final boxing match and it just ends poorly without spoiling too much way. The dub is alright. It’s nothing special, but nothing awful. Better then what most of Central Park Media dubbed around that time.

This anime feels like a pilot anime to lead up to more episodes which did not happen. Had this been a 8 episode OVA series or 25 episode TV series then I would give it a much higher rating. If you are into sports anime then you may like this anime. Grade: C+
