The point is how well the line is doing in Japan. Because that would be interesting to know as it would say a lot about the future of this line.
And a clue for that would be if they can sell the figure in
Japanese
retail or if they think it won’t be profitable enough and they only sell it through the Web-Shop. This is what interests me, not what Bluefin is doing with the figure.
Because, again: All unique Godzilla-molds (Godzilla himself) aside from the Showa one were released in Japanese retail. Not solely through the Web-Shop like for example Biollante or Battra.
If a completely new Godzilla mold, and this is what the SokogekiGoji should be, is not potent enough for Japanese retail in Bandai Tamashii’s eyes (and I do believe Japan is the focus with this line, I can’t imagine it sells that much better in the US) it might be hinting at how this line will continue to be on the backburner instead of making a true comeback which we're hoping to see.
