Yeah, totally agree.
There was so much interesting setup in the middle of the show, with threads (like the various competing ninja schools, the ninja governing body, Kinji's yokai-ism, the Ninningers absent parents, etc) that were just begging to be followed up on... and they just vanished.
It almost feels like there was originally a different plan for this show that was aborted at the last minute. Maybe there was some Bandai-related interference due to Ninninger's historically bad toy sales? I guarantee there will be some interesting conspiracy theories about producer interference that pop up around this series in the near future...
