This felt like a by-the-numbers episode save for the debut of Singe (or Shinge, the naming variation occasionally attached to his inevitable figure). Chase's behavior with Kaylee felt true to Chase's character and did indeed deserve a laugh for its comedic value and obvious oversights on Chase's part, and Kaylee will likely appear in the future in some capacity. However, the idea of Black Ranger walking around with a civilian in FULL VIEW OF THE CASUAL PUBLIC makes the whole thing laughable because NO ONE SEEMS TO NOTICE!!! I'm not buying this: Ranger or someone masquerading as a Ranger would draw attention! Singe felt like a good and dark albeit somewhat melodramatic villain. It's definitely a chance for Creepox's voice actor to do some actual ACTING! I am not satisfied with how they dealt with his intro nor how they shrank him down during the final battle. They could have found better ways to handle it. Also, the focus on attacking Kaylee just seemed superfluous and also could have been done differently. I'm not completely moved with this one, but Singe and Chase's comedic efforts were amusing.
P.S.: The letter subplot is important, but it had to muddle through the rest of this episode and didn't have the significant impact it truly needed. The next episode is a Red focus, and the meeting with Rusty may have greater relevancy.
P.P.S.: Did anyone find it odd how Rusty focused on Tyler's Energem?!
