I consider Meikuumon on the level of fanfiction oc's because:
a.) it is another Cat Digimon that looks like a Child/Rookie but is an Adult/Champion.
b.) it's super important to the plot but they act at first like it's totally just another normal Digimon, so not important at all.
c.) Has a better time fighting Ogremon than Togemon, who is an experienced Digimon we've seen for a season and a half
d.) Is the one to sway Leomon into doing things, then kills him as if that still means something (besides being a dick to an awesome Digimon, when his death isn't written that episode/scene) (is that really a spoiler at this point? Leomon dying?)
e.) the way it and Meiko's introduction as new Digidestiened is treated as so important or cool, all the while NOBODY SEEMS TO CARE WHERE THE 02 CAST ARE UNTIL 'KEN' SHOWS UP, AND EVEN THEN NO ONE MENTIONS YOELI, CODY, OR DAVIS AT ALL, JUST "OH HEY, THE DIGIMON EMPEROR/KAISER IS BACK, THOUGHT HE GOT OVER THAT!!"

There are ways to introduce new characters without them coming off as "super-special". This so far hasn't don't that.

Also, since this official counts as another season, you'd think we'd be getting more new Digimon to see, rather than just Meikuumon. I don't think it took 02 or Tamers this long to show new enemy Digimon, even if they were just the mooks of the week. I only bring this up, because from what I'm see from Digimon World: Next Order, and what I've seen in Cyber Sleuth, Toei/Bandai seem more interested in putting in new Digimon that haven't gotten a major media release yet then making more new ones (which, to be fair, makes sense. They got a lot of unused concepts on the back-burner, so might as well give them some limelight. I just remember that Digimon World 3 presented 3 new rookies from the get go).
