Oh wow. You'd think the giant robot action would get them hooked lol. Season 1 in particular has a ton of great political stuff. Watching how everything plays out, various groups trying to manipulate each other, the tension, its fantastic. So if your mom is into that kind of stuff, I could see her liking it.

Yeah, the Federation are kinda pussies in ZZ. It's weird how the federation prior to this point has at least tried to get thier shit together fighting Zeon, and are more proactive post OYW here it's just they stop altogether.

The episode really did humanize those grunts that you'd never really think about, showing that they have wants and desires of their own. I've seen the movies, I've read the Origin manga, never watched the show so any specific episode I can't pick. Maybe the TV show counterpart to the sequence where Garma is trying to find White Base and Char betrays him?

I also got my mom to watch about an hour of the first 0079 movie. I interjected the movie with interesting facts and answered any questions she had. She fell asleep after White Base entered Earth's atmosphere, but she woke up and told me she liked it, and that we should finish it on Thursday. The way she explained it to me is it was like watching the first Star Wars movie,which she saw in theaters in like 6th grade, and how it was different from everything else at the time. I think she understands why I like it a lot more now.
