They lose out on merchandise sales as you take out the female character related merchandise. Calling my statement "a theory" is horribly misguided. Revenue is something that companies thrive on and taking away part of their consumer quota hurts a company. And you keep using Sun Vulcan as an example. A show that is well past its prime. One series compared to 39 others that contained male and female team members. You can use the argument that Sun Vulcan had one of the highest ratings of its time but again, OF ITS TIME. Don't you know how merchandise sales work anyway? Child sees something on tv, they want it, company makes the toy, toys are sold. Sentai being a show FOR ALL KIDS tries to make as much merch as they can possible to sell for all their fans. If they can't put out the items for normal retail, they release via premium Bandai.
