One read of the Delta Species page on Bulbapedia later and....

No. Not technically. Not how I'm reading it. Seems like an important aspect of being a "Delta Species" is that although the altered Pokemon - which is not done through natural means anyway - has new typing, it retains its old weaknesses. Plus looking at the card art, they all still look the same. These new ones are entirely new sub-species basically. Different enough to say it's not the same thing.

(Which as an aside is going to make reorganizing my living dex just oh so fun! Hope we get more than gen 1 too.)
