Gentaro made a lot of friends during the mini episode arcs and I think it was enough to make him god of friendship. Also, just because they're in high school doesn't mean the characters have to be word-by-word stereotypes, they could've mixed it up. About the plot, I just feel it could've been more fleshed out.
