Remember when Capcom published a fanmade Mega Man game? That was their only "Celebration" for the Blue Bomber's anniversary. Nothing else. They didn’t care, someone made something good, they took it and advertised themselves as a fanbase loving bunch who love Mega Man. Facepalm.

And Sega? Sega needs to allow the few fans they still have to do what they want, and with the most recently announced classic Sonic game they even hired people out of the community because they have no idea how to do shit properly anymore.

Pokémon goes way too well in order to even think about endorsing or hell, even publishing rip-offs. Because no matter how extensive the ideas, these fans use trademarked names, concepts and in most cases official assets from the games. How can you expect to publish something like this, free or not, and expect to not get blown up?

TBH I blame Sammy for Sega's downfall more then anything else before they bought out Sega it made a valiant effort at becoming a quality 3rd party developer. But after the Sammy *who made it abundantly clear they didn't give a shit about video games and only wanted Sega's arcade business and to slap their characters on pachinko machines* buyout they went to shit.

....I still wish Nintendo had bought them and Rare out.
