If you've lived in Japan for as long as I have (10 years) you'll love it for way it ridicules the Japanese government in their response to natural disasters. It's totally a plagiarism of their response to the Tsunami of 2011.

But if you're someone who lives outside of Japan and just wants to see Godzilla smash stuff, then you're not going to like this more as it doesn't really feature Godzilla that much.

Personally, I loved this movie and Anno's views of contemporary Japanese society. It's a slow paced bureaucracy that never gets off its ass and does anything. Godzilla is not really the star, but moreover Humanity is the lead role.
