As I recall, he kinda did it twice:

First was his debut fight, where he opened a hole in his chest to avoid Toucon Robin-Hood's finisher.

Second was the fight after Takeru and the gang un-brainwash Makoto. Where Makoto transforms into Specter Edison again and repeatedly shoots Necrom with electricity.

And I believe it was at that point Necrom stopped using his liquefaction powers even after he joined the good guys. I'm guessing it was either because he was using his mortal body or he was afraid Gammaizer Electric might show up.
