[Kamen Rider Lucha]

Been slowly catching up on Zyuohger, and just watched this episode last night.

It was a delight! I feel like there's been a string of super solid episodes after the Gokaiger two-parter, and this one continues that trend. There was some great character work, and Misao continues to be one of the most fascinating Sentai characters in a long time. I feel like I'm frustrated and elated by him in the exact same ways the other Zyuohgers are. He's an intentionally difficult-to-like guy, and it's interesting to see his arc play out.

What actually surprised me the most about this episode was learning who wrote it: none other than Kento Shimoyama, the head writer of Ninninger. Say what you will about Ninninger (and I've said a lot, both good and bad), but this guy is freaking great at writing interesting characters. Before this ep, I dreaded the possibility of him helming another Sentai series. But now? I'm very curious to see what he'd do under a Sentai producer that isn't Naomi Takebe.
