But, from your first post, it didn't seem you did anything wrong to your ex boyfriend or say it the wrong way in order to possibly evoke a heartbroken response like you're describing. I can understand you not wanting to do the same thing that your first SO did to him, but she was cheating on you. You are just letting him go. Not the same scenario. If he's having that response, it's all on his end in that case.
