They're smaller and simpler so they can sell them for less.

Shurikenjin is the same height as Ninja Steel Magazord and the cube megazord is much smaller than any US zord from the past 5 years.

So no, some sentai mecha (like the cubes) are actually much smaller than the PR zords we've gotten.
