I think this is the sad and unfortunate truth. As long as the target audience keeps swallowing Power Rangers in its current state and keeps buying PR related toys, both Saban and Bandai will be happy. As a result, there is no reason for them to innovate the franchise beyond spandex clad heroes fighting rubber monsters.

What I can't get over, however, is the lack of passion that oozes from these neo-Saban shows. It really gives me the feeling that the showrunners translate children being the target audience as not having to put effort in their show.
