I think it has more to do with trying to keep up with the Sentai seasons while also attempting to keep their current two-season per series format. Which is why I'm kinda hoping next years Sentai is, for me, uninteresting, as I imagine it's allready doomed to be skipped.

not just that kyuranger is the first season of seantai that not only did toei thought it up but both Bandai japan and Bandai American had a head in design it.
