While you're right, there are two reasons why it's good
A: The LGBT have been a punching bag for a long time and proper representation is still needing work
B: Makes said character more relatable.
As a sidenote, the original Blue Ranger's actor constantly got bullied for being gay and even being said that was the reason he isn't really a good superhero for kids or something
