Hello Tokunation. I'm a beginner writer and, like many beginner writers, I write fanfiction in order to practice my skills. After a couple of years of writing fanfiction, give or take, and even longer participating in the yearly writing event Nanowrimo, I've decided to take a crack at writing a story over a long period of time. I've had problems sticking to things over a long period of time for as long as I can remember but I really want to break this habit and I figured, why not try and do that while writing a fanfic for one of my favorite TV Shows?

I originally considered doing this with an original story but I eventually switched to a fanfic because I have a much better chance of receiving constructive criticism for my work and because I have a much bigger audience. This way, I might actually be able to gather fans who would be interested in seeing something other then my fanfics.

Another reason I chose to do a fanfic rather then an original story is because, while an original story means coming up with my own rules and lore and things like that, a fanfic allows me to take existing rules and formulas and put my own spin on them. I think the restrictions of being in somebody else's world will help me gain the skills to construct my own one day.

Now, after that huge wall of text, let's get on to the reason why you're actually here. As I mentioned in the wall of text above, the reason why I chose to write a fanfic is because I want to work within the rules of the show and construct a story based on that. As I'm sure all of you know, Kamen Rider, like many tokusatsu, is a merchandise driven show. As such, its the toys that come first and its the writer's job to create a story based on this. Because of this, I figured it was only natural that I should create a toyline to go along with my fanfic.

As I was creating my stories toyline though, I realized something. A writer doesn't usually have much control over what toys are made, its simply his job to create a great story using what he's given. Because of this, I've decided to come to this site in hopes of you guys helping me construct a toyline for me to work off of.

Before we begin the construction, we need to go over the basics of what the toyline will consist of.

DX Line: The most expensive toys of the toyline. These are show accurate roleplay toys capable of producing lights and sounds and are more often the not compatible with the line's collectible.

Collectible Line: Little trinkets that people buy alongside the show. In addition to being interesting little toys on their own, Collectible Devices are capable of unlocking new light and sounds when used with DX Toys. Sometime, they even have electronics and are capable of producing their own lights and sounds.

Gimmick Figure Line: Action figures capable of replicating whatever gimmick the riders of the show are capable of doing. Sometimes, DX toys that are released are actually just fancy accessories for these guys.

There are more types of toys of course, such as support robots and mecha, but many of those vary based on the show itself and are quite flexible. There's a lot more to go over but, given the size of this post already, I think I'll wait and see if people are interested before continuing. Sidenote: Since I'm going to be writing this story, I figured it would be a good idea to provide you with links to my fanfiction.net and AO3 to see what I've written before. Before you open those links though, I'm going to tell you up front that I mainly write M/M fics, many of which are NSFW. I have no plans for this story to be NSFW and I don't even know if I'm going to include a romance of any kind but I figured you'd still want to see what I've written before this. As you can see from those stories, character relationships are a very important to me.
