[Fish Sandwich]

Dang, this was the first episode not written by Nobuhiro Mouri. Kyuranger's been super tightly written so far, despite its issues, so I was really hoping he'd pull a Kyoryuger and just write the whole show himself.

And they got the guy who wrote Ninninger for this episode, no less, which explains an awful lot about the tone. This week was so absurd I kind of loved it but, as someone who doesn't like to throw this word around, this was definitely "filler". A little disappointing given that Garu seems to be the most consistently shafted character in terms of focus at this point. Which I guess makes the plot kind of delightfully meta, but still, I'd rather have seen him get more fleshed out.

But who cares about any of that? Obviously the real news here is THEY'RE GOING TO A DIFFERENT PLANET NEXT EPISODE!!! I'm sure they'll be back to Earth immediately after but the odd break every now and then is all I'm asking for at this point, so I'm pretty happy.
