I actually liked his personality. The thing about Wizard is that he had a very quiet, low key personality. He usually didn't say very unless it was necessary and, save for snarky comments, rarely drew attention to himself or made a big deal about anything around him. The few times he did were usually much... tamer when compared to just about everyone else. To me, he felt like a less quirky version of a character who marched to the beat of his own drum. While I don't agree that's he's boring, I can certainly see why people often say that about him.
