If you like Evangelion and Gunbuster, try other classic Gainax titles like Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water and Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honnêamise. Wings of Honneamise is probably the best anime that Gainax has done in my opinion and probably one of the best anime films ever made in my opinion.

I haven't watch any of Gainax's newer anime after Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt since I hear most of their staff move on to other companies. Even before Panty & Stocking, I find Gainax's work after Evangelion to be hit or miss.

I like FLCL and I could not get into Melody of Oblivion. I did like Gurren Lagaan a lot when it was brand new, but I found myself getting sick of it as time went on. A lot of friends love Gurren Laggan and they would always play it when I would hang out with them. I don't think it is a bad series, but not the best thing ever made.
