There was a lot of things happening in this episode and while I thought it was all relatively paced well, some of the stuff that happened could of been saved for their own episode.
All the stuff with Scorpio was fine right up till his death. His sudden little redemption was really out of place considering how much of an asshole he has been. I think it would of been better if he died in Stinger's arms rather than performing this one final heroic act. That way it ends with Scorpio respecting and acknowledging Stinger rather than having him suddenly become a good guy.
Minor nitpick but I didn't like how Balance, Naga, Gary and Raptor just got stuck on the Orion this whole episode. I feel like since we have the introduction of a new ranger, all members of the team should get involved somehow, especially since that's what they did with Ryu Commander.
As for the introduction of Tsurugi aka Houou Soldier, well he definitely makes one hell of a first impression with the amount of things he single handledly took down in this episode. With how much they have been building up the Argo, I think this debut fight satisfies the amount of stuff the Kyurangers had to go through just to find this dang ship. I'm sure we're going to see more of Tsurugi's personality next episode but for now he's very much showing himself to be a bit of an egotist, albeit with the strength to actually back up his words.

I think that's how his whole introduction was supposed to feel like. Tsurugi is suppsed to comes off as both a mystery to the audience and the Kyurangers. It's clear from this episode that he is already experienced as a Kyuranger. The story of how he got the powers and why he was put to sleep in the Argo is probably the next arc. Plus I think it was more important to show off his power due to his relation to the Argo plot. I mean the Argo was a story element that has been built up for quite a while now. We've been constantly eluded to how it could change the tides in the Kyuranger favor and from what Tsurugi shown here, it definitely is going to.

From what I've read, the Argo becomes his Voyager.
