I also see this as a way Bandai can hedge their bets. Depending on how different the teams look, and what themes their mecha have, Bandai could be able to aleviate risk if one is not as popular. Maybe Patoranger will have vehicle mecha and Lupinranger animal, for example.

And speaking of Lupinranger, I'm really wondering how they'll set up a group of "Phantom Thieves" using giant robots. Kinda the furthest thing from sneaky. On the other hand I'm also looking forward to them following in their obvious inspiration's footsteps and foiling much worse people during their crimes.

We already had three ninja teams who are supposed to be the epitome of stealth(except for that one team that abandoned it) with flashy robots so I am sure they will justify it somehow within the realm of fiction.
