I'm not really sure what you're expecting from a GARO US release to be honest.

Bare bones in terms of what? Extras?
Bad packaging? It's hell of a lot better than Shout's pathetic efforts with Zyu or Dairanger.
Price? Eh, I partly agree but the set is discounted in so many places it's hard to take the RRP at face value. I guess I'm buying from the UK too so it seems pretty cheap to me.

This is always going to be a niche franchise that shifts relatively low numbers in the West. I'm sure the anime releases are exactly the same. It's not gonna get much advertisement because the people who will buy will already know about it from places like this.
