It will be part of a bigger picture, and I think an animated series is a great way to continue growing the franchise whilst not relying at all on Japan moving forward.
Putting it under Boulder Media is smart too because Boulder Media is specifically set-up as a way for Hasbro to circumvent issues of impartiality whilst producing content for third parties like BBC and Cartoon Network, plus gets them a massive Irish tax break of 30%.
But most people here don't want an Animated Power Rangers - and that is a perfectly reasonable opinion to have - you can't blame those that don't for being uneasy, or upset, at the possibility that there might be one.
It probably helps that nearly all adult fans of Power Rangers are
also
fans of Super Sentai, and enjoy seeing how the Sentai gets adapted. In fact, I often see people saying PR should be
more
like SS, not less.
Although, something you said does honestly raise a big question. If Power Rangers
is
going to be animated...will it still be focused on here as a main property, even though its no longer Tokusatsu? Or will it be moved to the 'Other Series' section? It'd be interesting to get a mod's opinion, there.

I can explain this for you quite simply, though. There was no hoopla - Toei just has Kamen Rider priced extremely high. Crunchyroll wanted to license it a few years back, but weren't willing to pay the price Toei wanted for it. That's why Dragon Knight got made - those guys were.
It treats Kamen Rider as a premium property - so if Hasbro were willing to pay for it and adapt it Live Action, they probably could.
