They've changed quite a lot, color wise. It's a Yomotsuheguri Arms/Bujin Gaim situation, different colors can make a suit look a lot better. I personally didn't care for the lighter colors of the original, as I felt that they washed out the cool details of the suit. This version does the job a lot better (IMO).

And it's the same situation with Magma, a cool suit, but details are washed out due to the color combination.

Then again, it's just my opinion.
