Clearly if Saban was going to sell the series he wasn't going to fork out cash on a series with 12 rangers, it would be much cheaper to adapt an older series with 5 rangers.
Bandai of America is rumoured to be going under anyway. bandai of japan probably saw no problem handing over PR from BoA to hasbro.

Hold on, wasn't Kyurangers made with input from BoA? Why would they dislike something they helped in making?
