It should be said that Ex-Aid kinda changed the game a bit by also having a mini series to fully end the main story, and it was pretty popular so I expect us to see something similar for Build.

The only issue I have is that those of us living outside Japan will have to wait 6 months plus to finish up a show with this new way of doing things.

As for nothing happening to characters because they are in the movie, that does not mean they are safe from death, mainly since death does not seem to prevent characters from showing up again in the movies in one way or another.
