I actually like the fact that Lupin/Patren X take after the opposite team in terms of ability set and aspects of suit design, because it makes him feel more like a unifying element than if he was just a Lupin/Pat but better imho. You can even see it with the X Emperor because Slash's face (not entire head) takes after Patokaiser while Gunner takes after LupinKaiser and heck, there's probably other elements of the opposing team that Lupin/Patren X incorporates into his forms' design, gear, abilities, and mecha.
