I adore the work Takadera did on it, but now that you mention it in retrospect I think he too is to blame as much as Shirakura or Inoue. If Takadera was a bit more savvy with the budget and held back some of his auteur tendencies, maybe he could have finished the show and not get kicked out and bring us last-minute patchwork from Inoue. Because at the end of the day it is a business and money doesn't just get pooped out of a mythical prosperity beast of sorts.

BUT. Diving more deeper into it Ultimately Toei is to blame for hiring him. I mean, IF BUILDING A CHAPEL BUILDING AND THEN BURNING IT DOWN TO THE GROUND FOR THE MOST BADASS HENSHIN DEBUT EVER was not a clear indication that the dude will blaze through money like a lit fuse... I don't know what is.
