It doesn't particularly help that they decided to comprise the team of characters that are from cancelled series (America, Hawkeye, Gwenpool) or have been flying below the radar and almost faded into obscurity. Plus a lot weren't particularly written well in their own runs recently so any interest for them is almost dead at this point.

Plus Kelly Thomson isn't particularly the best writer. From what I heard she's good on some titles like Mr. and Mrs. X/Rogue and Gambit (I've seen people that liked those two minis) but not a lot of people liked her Hawkeye run. Or West Coast Avengers so far. And now she's going to write Captain Marvel, a constant train wreck when it comes to relaunches.
