Haven't seen the episode but I'm assuming the dog fear is because of the old 'cats vs dogs' thing as cheetahs are felines. The Sentai version explained that Hiromu, the red, got stuck in a chicken coop he hid in and got attacked by the chickens, kinda like tv's understanding of PTSD
