Let's make no mistake. He's not good. Not by a long shot. But is he as bad as some are making it out to be? Not really. The stickers suck. The lack of tube integration sucks. The poor connection points for the helmets (or lack thereof) suck. The poseability sucks. The cheapy plastic that lacks any kind of weight or diecast sucks (to be fair, that might have been deliberate to mitigate any stability issues).

...HOWEVER. It's still fun to mess around with and combine. While certain parts are loose, he doesn't crumble or fall apart that easily and it is rather easy to combine and take apart. While I don't think it's worth the asking price, as a fan of the series, I don't regret buying it. As-is it seems to be the best option out of all the Gridman figures out there, until Bandai does a DX Chogokin of some kind. Well, one can hope. (^.^')

The mini-pla's also about a 100 bucks, is smaller, requires more work to put together and will feature stickers and parts-forming as well. While I think the mini-pla is a great option, depending on what you're looking for, I don't think it's necessarily better than the DX set even taking into account the DX's shortcomings.
