That can greatly vary. The one I remember, Black Series Thrawn, was out at retail like a few months after the SDCC exclusive release. There's no stone set formula to it, I would however expect news of a single release in the next 6 months or so. The release itself should definitely be within a year after the exclusive comes out.

Generally with these exclusives, if they are completely new molds of classic characters, a retail release is almost guaranteed at some point. Wacky color-variants or very niche characters (Lord Draakon or whatever that one was called) might stay exclusive but beloved characters like these are never meant to be exclusive forever. It’s just too easy to sell a unique box-set to collectors and then charge the entire customer base with single releases.
