Ultraman has a bit more continuity than Rider or Sentai do but it's not too heavy. The first episode of Taiga shows the past New Generation Heroes battling Tregear, and of course Taro makes an appearance, but I don’t think you need to know any of these characters to get what they're going for.

Also, they give their powers to the new guys so I'd say that's the last time we see them until the finale maybe.

Try it, I don't think you'll feel lost; you can enjoy it as is.
