I disagree. For one Digimon does have recognition with the general public. Unfortunately non-fans see it as a Pokemon knockoff or just "another one of those animes." Two the series has several dozens of arcs and deep lore to explore in not just one but many films. If done right it could be one of the most successful film franchises ever.
