It was more like "ASK YOUR PARENTS TO RENT THE BLU-RAY.", considering Prime Rogue came out after the series was already over. Actually, the summer movie is completely irrelevant to this. The real point of that dialogue is simply to provide a feasible explanation why Gentoku wasn't rocking that cape in the last stretch of the show (and the movie).

It definitely was nice how Build tried so hard to keep its continuity in order like that. It still slipped up a lot, mind you, but there was clearly a bigger effort than usual being made to fit everything together, and Build gets pretty convoluted.
