The closest we'd ever get to that is Ginga where Jean-Nine basically serves as the secondary hero of the show.

But yeah they really should have a mecha of their own. Attack teams often fail because they are practically useless, and when Ultraman finally ditched selling their toys in favor of DX roleplay it shows in toy sales.
