After staring at them for a bit, I think I figured it out. For me, atleast.

The straps over the shoulders accentuate the chest and make them look puffed out. As such Red and Blue look way buffer than than they should be whereas Gold doesn't have this problem; Partly thanks to him having shoulder-pads instead.
