Yeah, I think a lot of the success of Houjou Loses His Shit is down to how long it takes to get there. Like, he gets his successes, and then when the fight gets difficult he shatters. It's incredibly funny to me (those faces!), but him literally running away does a tremendous job of reestablishing stakes, of making sure Agito retains primacy in the Rider hierarchy, of reframing Nijou's time as G3 as less a failure for not winning, but more a victory for not quitting. It's surprising to me how ridiculous that scene can be while doing everything you'd want a dramatic scene to do.
