It's actually mostly just an honest observation? I mean, the real reasons almost certainly have nothing to do with the presence or lack of giant robots in the films, but the original Showa series of Godzilla movies legitimately did die after a duology of Mechagodzilla films. The rebooted Heisei series was then itself originally intended to end with its own Mechagodzilla movie before they decided to keep it going a little longer. And then the "Millennium" series after that only had Final Wars come out once it was done with its duology of movies featuring Mechagodzilla.

I never thought of it this way until I read that comment by you, but the guy seems to secretly be some kind of harbinger of the end-times.
