LuPat has a great premise, but it's brought down by it's fear of actually doing anything with it.
The show makes it blatantly clear that it's really only about Lupinranger by the halfway mark. This is a big issue since it sells itself on it's creative premise, then abandons it entirely.

I mean, in terms of marketing, yeah, I guess that's important, but it's like complaining that a Kamen Rider's bike doesn't look cool. It's only just a small part of a larger whole.

Lupinranger vs Patranger is a show consistently underlined by its lost potential in how its premise boasted of being different but ultimately just fell into the same old Sentai formula, and there's some particularly annoying toy-related stuff near the end; but look past that and it's pretty nice. It's very much about its characters more than anything and if you come into it from that angle you'll find a lot to enjoy.

Chopping out the Ryusoulger stuff since I dropped it out of disinterest. Anyway, Zyuohger really was a series that kind of crept up on me in becoming one of my favorites as well. A wonderful, well rounded cast with one of my favorite reds of all time. An enjoyable story, one of the best 6th rangers (Especially with his great subversion on why he's a loner at first ) and 6th ranger introduction arcs ever. A comic relief character that I loved to pieces. It may not have been perfect, but what it set out to do, it did damn well~

Kyuranger is Annoying.
I legitimately cannot stand Lucky. When his catchphrase is uttered on a per-minute basis, occasionally reaching the double digits per episode, it leads to a series that I never wanted to finish.
Even though he does under go development, just the fact that I had even considered watching it without sound is a problem.

And yeah. LuPat is kind of the epitome of disappointment. What could have been a great back and forth just turned into Lupinrangers making the Patrangers look like shit. Not helped by the worst 6th ranger ever. Noel, his shit eating grin, and his sabotaging the Patrangers just made the series even more unbalanced than it needed to be.
