Look, I love sentai. LOVE IT. But I don't really understand why some folks (not necessarily the folks here, but certainly elsewhere) get so damn keyed up about the suit designs or, my biggest pet peeve, the colors. I think that's because the aesthetics of Super Sentai do play a big part in its appeal. We like the characters to look good so we can proudly display them on our shelves as Figuarts. We enjoy them looking cool as they fight baddies on screen. It simply is the nature of such a show that the look of the characters play as big a part as the story or characterization.

I'll say though, I don't think there is a single modern Super Sentai suit design that I actually dislike. If there's a wonder about Super Sentai, is that there has not been a single dud (at least for me) in the modern (Heisei) age.
