Ryuki didn't want to fight Scissors, but it's clear that Ryuki had superior equipments, and about Scissors' weak stats. Merely activating Guard Vent knocks back Scissors a good distance.

I'll put this in as non spoilery way as I can for Die's sake, but I found Asakura's reason for hating him funny
