The best bit of the Shinji storyline that I neglected to bring up is how little Ren cares about this plot. Dude just completely Nopes out of it after about five seconds. Shinji's all What Should I DO and Ren's just like, Do Whatever. Zero help, could not care less if the goofy journalist knows the truth about Rider Battles. I like how Ren's friendship with Shinji has, like, a very limited radius. This whole fiasco is just outside that radius, so he never gets involved. I love it.
