After Red Dwarf VIII was finished there would have been a movie on the big screen. But instead in 2009 we got Red Dwarf IX Back To Earth.

In 2016 and 2017 we got Red Dwarf XI and Red Dwarf XII.

3 and a half years later Dave UK releases the movie not for theaters but as a TV Episode. This was Red Dwarf XIII The Promised Land.

As for the next 6 chapters it's unknown if they will be Red Dwarf XIV.

At least we got a movie.
